Once again this year our club is participating in the 32nd Annual Badger State Games Snowmobile Torch Ride. The ride is a two day event taking place on Thursday and Friday of this week (01/14 & 01/15). The torch will be used to light the caldron at the Opening Ceremonies of the Badger State Games at the snowmobile Derby Complex in Eagle River, WI.

There are 14 snowmobile clubs involved and each club gets to chose members that will carry the torch. This year, the Board has invited Joe and Nancy Ritchie to carry the torch on our behalf, from the Hazelhurst Pub to the Bearskin Trailhead in Minocqua.

Of course, when this event was planned, the torch was to be carried on snowmobiles. Unfortunately, due to the lack of snow, it will be transported via pick-up truck from stop to stop. We will be participating in the Passing of the Torch stops at the Hazelhurst Pub (receiving the torch from Northwest Passage SC) and the Minocqua Chamber of Commerce (passing the torch to the Cross Country Cruisers SC). A press conference is scheduled at the Chamber.

This is a great opportunity to support our club by attending the passing of the torch at either of the two stops, or both. The torch is scheduled to be passed at 1:00 PM at the Hazelhurst Pub and at 1:45 PM at the Chamber on Thursday.

Each stop includes photo shoots of the torch being passed along with club members in attendance (our Photo Op is at the Hazelhurst Pub). Please consider joining in the fun and participating in this event.
