Weekly Club Ride Cancelled For Thursday, 02-27-2020

This week’s Club Ride on Thursday, February 27th has been cancelled due to the hardness of the trails and the potential for machines overheating.

Our organizers, Larry and Nancy Schum rode today and encountered overheating problems even with their trail scratchers down. With sub freezing temperatures predicted for the next couple of days and limited rider traffic, the hard packed trail conditions will continue into the near future.

Let’s hope that mother nature cooperates for another week and blesses us with sub freezing temperatures and some accumulating snow.

Extended Forecast for the Week Ahead (as reported by weather.com) Temperatures will stay below the freezing point going into Saturday, with a high
temperature of 30 degrees.  A warming trend is predicted for Sunday through Tuesday with the highest temperature of 42 degrees on Tuesday. There’s also a 40% chance of a rain and snow mixture throughout that day.  During Wednesday and Thursday, the temperatures will drop slightly to an
average of 35 degrees. There’s also a 40% chance of accumulating snow on Wednesday.  Expect variable winds from a southerly direction at the beginning of the week, changing to a more northerly direction by Thursday. The average wind speed during this time period will be 9 mph.

With all this being said, it’s once again time to do a good old fashion snow dance, so impressive that Mother Nature has no choice but to take notice.

Upcoming Club Events:  Saint Patrick’s Day: Membership Meeting at Bitters & Bull
