New President Elect Introduction – Jerry Wakefield

Hello,

Let me introduce myself – my name is Jerry Wakefield, and I am your newly elected president.

Before I tell all of you a little bit about myself, I’d like to send out my personal thanks to:

  • All of the members of this great club.
  • Everyone who has volunteered over the past year.
  • The groomers, and trail maintenance individuals who help get our trails ready and maintained over this long season.
  • A special thank you to both Howard Bros. Plumbing, and Rynders Companies for helping us remove and get repaired, our tractor that went through the ice in the swamp on trail BB this past season.  These companies saved us an enormous amount of money by donating their time and services.  Please consider these companies based on your future needs.

I have been coming up to the Northwoods since the middle 70’s, and I’ve been in love with the Minocqua area since my first time up here.  First coming up with my parents and staying in cabins, resorts, and enjoying the lakes with all the activities they offer.  I purchased our first property in Minocqua in 2005.  A seasonal 1-bedroom cabin that I spent every possible moment at it if I could.  From that first season up here, I knew this was where I wanted to live.  In 2013 I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to move up here permanently.  In that same year, I purchased my first snowmobile.  A 2007 Polaris IQ touring, (I still have it), and my thought was, this would be a great way to introduce my wife to the sport, and she did enjoy it.

What I really found the most I liked about snowmobiling is the scenery.  I mean where else are you going to see the beauty of the Northwoods than from a sled?  Well, I did find another way and that is from the seat of a groomer!  I have to admit, sometimes watching the sunset, or sunrise from the machine is breathtaking.  I have also found a great sense of comradery with the talented groomers we have in this club.

I know the season is over now, and many of you are looking forward to all the spring, summer, and fall activities coming up.  I want to thank you for your time, and look forward to being at your service as president of, in my opinion, the best snowmobile club in Wisconsin!

Sincerely,
Jerry Wakefield

GROOMING FOR YOU IS WHAT WE DO!
