Trail Report – January 14, 2026

Trail Report 1/14/26 – from Club President Jerry Wakefield

It’s been warm here and we even got some rain in the past couple of days.
Yesterday, I rode all of our main corridors in our northern territory, and to my delight the trails were in really good condition overall. There are some areas that are showing wear, due to traffic and lack of snow. I also groomed this past weekend down south, and have received reports of our southern section of trails being in really good condition also, with some of the same signs of wear in high traffic areas.

With the forecast of some snow and really cold temps, we hope to be able to maintain a fairly good base. A lot of this depends if we get the forecasted snow, since last week we didn’t get any snow, only rain.

With this upcoming weekend being a long holiday weekend, please be aware of the increased number of riders you will be encountering when out riding on any trails. This weekend is also the snowmobile derby weekend, and traffic will be increasing especially the closer you get to Eagle River.

Also, we are staring to hear and see signs of people riding off trail! This must STOP! If you see someone riding off trail, Please Report it! It’s trespassing and illegal!

Finally, our groomers will be out every day this weekend. Please remember to wait for the groomer to stop before you pass it, and also remember a groomer will not pass you even if you’re stopped; you must go around the groomer.
