The Minocqua Forest Riders Snowmobile Club, a non-profit working to provide safe snowmobiling routes in Oneida County Wisconsin will be hosting it’s second Vintage Snowmobile Day on February 21 st .

Last year’s event attracted almost 1,000 spectators, and this February’s program is shaping up to meet or perhaps exceed that attendance. The event, scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026, will take place at the Area 31 complex, located at 13050 Gilbertson Road, Minocqua. It is open to the public, and attendees are welcome to ride in by car or snowmobile. Activities will include an expanded radar run series, featuring a morning vintage radar run, a noon-time youth radar run, and an afternoon open radar run series. Per the MFR planning director, Dan Sikora, “The open radar run should be a lot of fun this year. Essentially, what we’re saying is that you can bring whatever you want to the event. We’ve lengthened the track to 660’ in the hopes that we’ll attract some pretty quick riders/snowmobiles. All the details can be found on our event website at www.vintagesnowmobileday.com.”

Other events include our annual snowmobile raffle for a 2026 Ski-Doo MXZ X-RS snowmobile, a vintage snowmobile showcase, BRAAP baby mini snowmobile races, multiple raffle baskets, food and beverages, a bonfire and even a trucker hat bar. Miss Snowflake (AWSC), Jena Lenz will make an appearance, and we’ve secured Mike Wolf from WRJO Radio to emcee the radar runs again. Awards will be presented for the vintage events and for the open radar run.

The history of Area 31, coupled with some of the most unique vintage sleds, really makes Saturday a very special day. We couldn’t do any of this without the support of our sponsors and our volunteers, who work tirelessly to plan and execute this event. Our premium sponsors this year include: Area 31, Lakeland PowerSports, Little Brown Jug, Rynders Companies, and the Minocqua Area Visitors Bureau.

Funds raised through the MFR Vintage Snowmobile Day will be allocated for equipment maintenance and future equipment purchases.
