Groomer Trail Updates – Feb 22

Trail 10 W to Trail A still pretty good. From there to the Price County line getting rough and bumpy. Trail A also getting rough. Trail 5 S to Bootjack Swap starting to get real thin in places.

Route 6 Trail 12w groomed  this morning; trails are in overall good condition.

Message from Club President Jerry Wakefield:

Weather forecasts call for above freezing temperatures starting this Sunday Feb 23. We plan to suspend trail grooming starting Sunday until temperatures return to below freezing. Our grooming machines would end up doing more damage to the trails than any good in these warmer temperatures.

We also strongly recommend that everyone refrain from riding on the trails starting Sunday and until the temperatures go below freezing. We have had little snow this winter, so our trail base is very thin and will quickly deteriorate from traffic.

Please note that this DOES NOT affect our plans for the Vintage Snowmobile Day event on Saturday Feb 22, and you are still encouraged to ride in for that event.

The forecast for the middle of the week is for rain and snow. Hopefully more snow than rain, and then falling temps starting Thursday. If this holds true, we hope to restart our grooming and our season can continue.

We will keep updating this report as the week moves forward.
