MFR Trail Report 02-09-2023
February 9, 2023
Curt Christensen, President
It looks like we’re at the beginning of another warming spell. It seems that with the amount of snow we have, the trails just might be able to hang in there if the overnight temperatures are below freezing and allow us to groom. Only time will tell…
Trails:
Our groomer operators are reporting that the trails continue to remain in Very Good to Excellent Condition.
Trail Issues:
•   There’s logging activity on Trail 5 between TIN-513 and TIN-515. Sections of the trail may have limited amounts of snow on them. Ride with caution.
•  Trail 5A is PERMANENTLY closed between TIN-651 (the intersection of Trail 5 & Trail 5A) and TIN-653 (the intersection of Trail 5A & Price County Road). Follow the detour.
Weekend Forecast (as predicted by AccuWeather):
Friday:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â A high temperature of 25 degrees and a low temperature of 13 degrees. Expect WNW winds of 10 mph under cloudy skies by day and clearing during the evening hours.
Saturday:Â Â Â A high temperature of 38 degrees and a low temperature of 15 degrees. Expect SW winds of 13 mph (gusting to 25 mph) under partly sunny skies by day and patchy clouds by night.
Sunday:Â Â Â Â Â A high temperature of 41 degrees and a low temperature of 24 degrees. Expect winds from the WSW at 7 mph. Intervals of clouds and sunshine will prevail during the day and turn mostly cloudy during the nighttime hours.
Extended Forecast:          Daytime temperatures will be around 40 degrees Monday through Wednesday, with nighttime low temperatures below freezing. There’s also a chance we’ll get an inch or two of snow Wednesday night and into Thursday.
