MFR Trail Report 1-26-2023

Curt Christensen – President

I hope you were able to get out and enjoy our trails, and for that matter, other club’s trails.  The conditions are the best I can remember in a long time. It looks like a dreaded polar vortex will descend upon us at the end of the weekend, bringing with it temperatures in the single digits for about five days.

Trails:
Our groomer operators are reporting that the trails continue to remain in Very Good and in some cases Excellent Condition.

Trail Issues:
•   Trail 5A is PERMANENTLY closed between TIN-651 (the intersection of Trail 5 & Trail 5A) and TIN-653 (the intersection of Trail 5A & Price County Road). Follow the detour.

•    Water has developed over the Spillway on Trail 5. The section of trail between TIN-524 and TIN-525 is closed. Follow the detour.

•    There is logging activity on Trail 5 between TIN-513 and TIN-515. Sections of trail may have limited amounts of snow on them. Ride with caution.

•    There’s a caution area on the north side of the swamp on Trail BB and it’s marked with barrels. Please ride this trail with caution. Even though it gets groomed on a regular basis, it also deteriorates much faster than most trails because of it’s heavy use.

Weekend Forecast (as predicted by AccuWeather):
