MFR Trail Report 2-5-2023
Curt Christensen, President
I do believe that when the temperature hovers right around the freezing mark, the conditions of the trails are spectacular, especially with the amount of snow we have, allowing the grooming machines to do their thing. However, it looks like a warming trend is on the way midweek.
Trails:
Our groomer operators are reporting that the trails are in Very Good to Excellent Condition.
Trail Issues:
– The detour around the Spillway on Trail 5 has been removed.
– There’s logging activity on Trail 5 between TIN-513 and TIN-515. Sections of the trail may have limited amounts of snow on them. Ride with caution.
– Trail 5A is PERMANENTLY closed between TIN-651 (the intersection of Trail 5 & Trail 5A) and TIN-653 (the intersection of Trail 5A & Price County Road). Follow the detour.
– The caution area on the north side of the swamp on Trail BB will be removed soon.
Weekend Forecast (as predicted by AccuWeather):
Saturday:
A high temperature of 27 degrees and a low temperature of 15 degrees. Expect SSW winds of 7 mph under partly cloudy skies by day and cloudy by night.
Sunday:
A high temperature of 27 degrees and a low temperature of 5 degrees. Expect Variable winds from the West at 7 mph. Cloudy skies will prevail during the day and begin clearing during the nighttime hours.
Extended Forecast:
Temperatures will begin creeping above the freezing point beginning Monday and ending Thursday night with Wednesday’s high temperature topping out at 42 degrees. There’s also a chance we’ll get a 1/2 inch of snow on Thursday.
