Trail D (Kobart Trail) Re-route at Sunday Lake Crossing
Do not ride on lakes until they are marked.
For those of you who ride Trail D (Kobart Trail) between Sunday Lake and Shishebogama Lake, be aware the crossing at US HWY 70 has been moved.
When traveling eastbound, the exit from Sunday Lake is now at the eastern part of the lake instead of the southeast corner of the lake. The trail goes up the embankment to the area between the guardrails on the west side of 70 and crosses there. Once across 70, the trail goes to the right down the right-of-way to connect with the old section of trail and onto Shishebogama Lake.
When travelling westbound, the trail follows the Hwy 70 right-of-way to the north for about another 200 yards past where the old crossing used to be. Turn left across Hwy 70 (between the guardrails) and then turn right and follow the trail down the embankment to Sunday Lake.
The new crossing allows for better visibility for both car traffic and snowmobile traffic and allows both eastbound and westbound sledders a safer area to stage before crossing the highway.
